A short drive from my family’s home is the town of Gruyère. A small town in Switzerland, it is surrounded with pastures, cows and goats, it has an excellent cheese factory where the the famous Gruyère cheese is made and an old medieval castle at the top of the hill overlooking the valley.
It was a nice afternoon, cool, and the flowers just starting to bloom. We ate a delicious fondue with onions and pickles at the famous Le Chalet and later visited the castle at the top of the hill and the HR Giger museum. It’s the last place you would expect to see a museum dedicated to the creator of Alien but there it is, nestled into the serene countryside at the foot of the Alps.
